This weekend I was lucky enough to be taken out to lunch to a restaurant located in the Shard called Oblix.
The food was exquisite and could only be upstaged by the spectacular view of the Beautiful London skyline.
We arrived to the Shard at 11:30am and enjoyed mimosas whilst admiring the view from Aqua Restaurant (across from Oblix), before making our way over to Oblix at 12pm. The restaurant was basically empty at this time but I highly recommend getting there early because the window tables are available on a first come first serviced basis.
We got the most beautiful view from our table. We sat right against the floor to ceiling windows looking over St Paul’s Cathedral, River Thames and the rest of the spectacular London skyline. Sipping a glass of Malbec whilst admiring the most beautiful view, could it get any better?
Well let me tell you it did as soon as the food arrived!
Crispy squid, lemon and lime
Lamb chops, harissa and yoghurt
Hand cut chips
Mashed potatoes and garlic chips
Tenderstem broccoli, preserved lemon & chilli
Although not exactly cheap the food was of the highest quality and prepared to perfection. The sirloin and lamb chops melted in your mouth and the sides complemented them perfectly.
Another outstanding factor of this dining experience was the service. The waiters were well educated about the menu and my glass was never lower than halfway full.
If you are looking for a second to none dining experience or somewhere to celebrate a special occasion, I would not hesitate to recommend Oblix at the Shard.
Happy eating xxx
